The World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with Koica and the government of Uganda, will renovate hospitals in five districts of the Busoga sub-region. The districts benefiting from this program include Mayuge, Buyende, Iganga, Bugiri, and Kamuli. The police in Kamuli have arrested a 28-year-old man, Kabanda Abudalah, on suspicion of defiling his 15-year-old stepdaughter. Kabanda, a native doctor from Butangala in Northern Division of Kamuli Municipality, was taken into custody on Wednesday. The victim, whose identity has been withheld, is a Primary 5 student at Buzibirira Primary School in Kamuli. According to initial investigations, Kabanda began a sexual relationship with his stepdaughter in 2020 and took advantage of her mother’s busy schedule to abuse her. On June 7th, 530 students graduated from the Lubega Institute of Nursing and Health Professionals in Busei village, Nakalama sub-county, Iganga district.
