A team of visiting evangelists from the United States of America (USA) have pledged to work closely with local communities to improve education in Buyende District. Led by Senior Pastor Karl Hofheinz of Radford Baptist Church in Georgia, the 16-member team is in the country to preach the gospel, check on the progress of different projects as well as provide medical care to the community with emphasis on dental and eye care, among others. IGANGA- A raging fire has gutted Iganga High School boy’s dormitory destroying property worth millions of shillings, this website has learnt. By press time, efforts were still ongoing to save students’ property. The cause of the fire is not yet established. The school headmaster Godfrey Waiswa said the school authorities will work closely with the police to establish the cause of the fire that started at about 7:15PM on Sunday. Rugby Cranes Head Coach Fred Mudoola has named two Jinja-based players among the 28 that will represent Uganda in the Rugby Africa Cup in France. The list seen by this website has Jinja Hippos players Jacob Ochen and Emong Eliphaz named among the 28 travelling to France for the Rugby Africa Cup tournament. The three day event which started on Thursday is taking place at the B.P Buwenda Training and Camping Ground. A man has collapsed dead in his car infront of Akamwesi Shopping Mall gate in Kyebando, Kampala on Sunday morning. Police have identified the deceased as Dr Godfrey Kamugisha, a resident of Buliisa district. Dr Kamugisha was reportedly found dead in his car Reg. No. UBJ 241Y. He has been working at the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) as the supervisor of Animal production. Unconfirmed report indicate that the deceased succumbed to high blood pressure.

BUGEMBE — The ObwaKyabazinga Bwa Busoga (OBB) has today launched the distribution of 15,000 hoes to all the 11 chiefdoms that make up Busoga to enhance food security in Busoga Sub Region. The launch for distribution of the hoes was done by OBB’s first deputy Katuukiro Prof. Dr. Muhamadi Lubega Kisambira on May 24th, at the Kingdom headquarters in Bugembe, Jinja City.
