Elly Tumwine will be laid to rest on Tuesday, August 30, at his ancestral home in Mukuru, Rwemikoma sub-county in Kazo district. NATIONAL: David Muledhu has been appointed National Executive Commissioner of the Uganda Scouts Association (USA). Muledhu replaces Richard Okello who succumbed to kidney failure at Kiruddu Hospital in May after serving the scouts body for 15 years as the top boss. A mob in Jinja city has lynched a suspected thief suspected to be part of the gang terrorizing Jinja city residents. It is believed that the gang jumped over a perimeter wall and entered the compound of one of the residents at School Lane in the wee hours of Monday morning. They were, however, intercepted and one of them was stoned to death by an irate mob. The rest of the gang managed to escape and are still on the run.
