It has been 20 years since the diocese of Jinja last animated the Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations at Namugongo Martyrs Shrine. The diocese last animated the highly billed religious event in 2002 under the then bishop Joseph Willigers. This year (2023), the opportunity was granted to Eastern Ecclesiastical Province of Tororo to lead the celebrations. The province, instead, tasked Jinja diocese to animate. Kamuli: Activists fighting for the rights of persons living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda have decried the stigma and discrimination from community against the victims (people with HIV). After president Museveni assenting to the Anti Homosexuality bill into law, there have a lot of foreign criticism and sanctions threats against Uganda government. The Busoga Kingdom’s Masaza tournament will kick off in July this year with the 6th edition as it was revealed by the Kingdom Sports Minister, Owekitiibwa Amin Bossa Nkono. Jinja: People are not enjoying their city streets following the rampant robbery in town. The suburbs of Bugembe, Mafubira, Namulesa, Kikaramoja became black spots as thieves are not seated.
