Makepasi Match and Mr. Pratap Madhvani and family donate wheelchairs three times a year with priority given to children, orphans and widows. Official hand over of 2,500 tree seedlings in Mukono, Namakwa. Kakira Sugar Limited and Uganda Red Cross Society have partnered to plant 65,000 trees over five years, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 13, which calls for urgent action to combat climate change. This year, they have planted 5,000 trees in the Elgon region and 2,500 in Jinja District.
Donation of UGX3m and sugar towards the enthronement of Rev. Canon Paul Hannington Suubi as first Bishop of East Busoga Diocese. Rev. Suubi has roots in Kakira, having attended Kakira Secondary School for O’ level and A’ level. He ministered as a youth pastor at St. Stephen Church in Kakira Town Council and was the longest serving chaplain at Busoga College Mwiri.
Students from Good Samaritan School for the Deaf – Kitengeesa, Masaka on a study tour to Makepasi Match Limited, which is the largest employer of people with disabilities in Uganda. The school director wrote to appreciate Makepasi for conducting the tour in sign language and offering an inspiring example of inclusivity and equal opportunity employment.
