    Jinja City to pilot electric public transport

    JINJA: Government of Uganda through the ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has proposed that Jinja City should have electric public transport system.

    In a letter dated March 28, 2023 to Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, the first Deputy Premier who doubles as the East African Community Affairs Minister, confirmed this development.

    Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, having met with the City authorities, says Jinja city is prepared and ready for the project.

    “I write to inform you that on March 28, 2023 I had a meeting with the Mayor Jinja city and the Executive committee, Task force with Town Clerk and speaker of the city council. They have pledged unconditional support and will adhere to the requirements of the Ministry.
