Jinja: Former Baba Television journalist, Rogers Kifubangabo, 32, has been murdered in cool blood in Budhumbuli (Bugembe) Jinja city.

He was stabbed to death by the yet to be identified thugs who attacked him on Sunday night on his way back home.

Kifubangabo is a son to the Busoga kingdom’s information minister, Owekitiibwa Michael Kifubangabo, a popular news anchor on a local radio station (Baba FM).

Police through the Kiira region police spokesperson, ASP James Mubi, confirmed the development, saying the motive of the assailants is not yet established.

“We were tipped that there’s a dead body dumped in Kalina zone Budhumbuli. He was stabbed on the head, and around his neck,” said Mubi adding that police are examining the situation to find out the perpetrators who were behind this brutal murder.

The deceased body was transferred to Jinja regional hospital as investigations go on. He is expected to be laid at his ancestral home at Nagweni village in Bulopa subcounty Kamuli district.

Police announced serious operations against criminals in the areas of Bugembe, Mafubira, Namulesa and others. He says many are to be netted to curb criminality in the area.

Police in Jinja recently arrested 30 suspected criminals who were arraigned in court and remanded.
