Busoga Kingdom Youth Council (BKYC) members on Sunday went through a significant education to bold their courage in serving the Kingdom. Participants were specifically the members of the Executive Committee who learnt several skills on protocol.
Undertaking the education, Hajji Isimeal Tenywa, the head of protocol in Busoga Kingdom emphsized the youths to prioritize discipline in their execution of duties on the Kyabazinga’s land. Hajji Tenywa believes that the youths can effectively serve their motherland provided they are empowered in different circumstances.
He cited and praised a group of Busoga youths who initiated the “Basoga Nseete” initiated in the 1990s that has since spread and united Busoga learners in universities and tertiary institutions across the country and around the globe.
“The youths who initiated Basoga Nseete were like you, and you can also make it. It is only discipline and determination that can lead you to a good future,” said Hajji Tenywa.
He preached unity among the energetic youths, saying disputes will not lead to any progresses and the aims and objectives of BKYC will remain futile. The senior police officer encouraged the group to love and respect their culture.
“I can see future in all of you here. Many want political positions and others many prefer to serving in Government offices but you need to remain determined and keep respect for each other in the community,” he said.
During the meeting, the BKYC Executive Committee was reshuffled with members entrusting each other with powers in different secretariats.
