The former member of parliament for Bulamogi county constituency, Kenneth Lubogo, wants the expenditure of the subvention of shs10 billion provided by the central government to the Kaliro district local government. Lubogo is concerned and suspicious that the district authorities would have tampered with the money after its intended activities do not match with the shillings. Farmers and sugarcane dealers in the Busoga sub-region are miserably crying over the deduction of the cane price. Reports from the sugar mills indicate that a tone now is valued for shs143,000. Madhvani sugar factory is the latest to deduct the price after Mayuge, Kaliro, and Kamuli factories. These have reportedly disappointed farmers after the fluctuation rapidly reduced from shs165,000 to shs143,000 per tone. Leaders, locals, and stakeholders in Jinja district celebrated the world environment day with planting trees aiming to promote the preservation of the environment. Over 600 fruit trees were planted along Muguluka-Buyengo road, a 10km distance to Buyengo town council headquarters.
