Jinja: The highly anticipated Source of the Nile Entertainment Awards (SONEA) have been postponed to May 31, 2025.
According to the organizers, the decision to postpone the event, originally scheduled for April 12, 2025, was made due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but we must prioritize the safety and overall experience of our nominees and guests,” said Andy Bash, one of the organizers, on Wednesday.
Despite the setback, the organizers have secured a new venue—a luxurious five-star restaurant and lounge—and assured ticket holders that all purchases for the original date will remain valid for the rescheduled event.
As a gesture of goodwill, current ticket holders will receive an additional complimentary ticket to bring a guest. The event promises an exciting lineup of competitions and performances.
The Source of the Nile Entertainment Awards aim to celebrate excellence in the entertainment industry, and the organizers are committed to delivering a memorable experience for all attendees.
Established in 2021, the vibrant musical festival and tournament have become premier events in the arts and sports communities.
This year’s edition promises to be bigger and better, featuring new attractions that will showcase the talents of singers, comedians, DJs, music promoters, producers, and songwriters from the region.
To promote inclusivity, the 2024 edition of SONEA incorporated sports, including rugby and football, to nurture young talent in the sports sector.
Organized by Nile Awards Company Limited, based in Jinja, SONEA has become a platform for artists and sports enthusiasts to shine and connect with their fans.
