Pastor Juma Mulokole, a renowned gospel music maestro, held a meeting with various media personalities from different media houses on Sunday evening at his audio and video recording studios. The purpose of the meeting was to seek their support in promoting his upcoming music concert scheduled to take place on August 13th, 2023, at TransAfrica Gardens in Jinja City.
Recognizing the influential role of the media in concert promotion, Pastor Juma Mulokole expressed his belief that media professionals have a significant following within the community. He emphasized that the concert aimed to generate funds through ticket sales, as well as provide an opportunity for attendees to experience uplifting music and contribute to charitable causes.
“The media plays a crucial role in promoting concerts, and with their large following, we can use this platform to make a positive impact on society,” said Pastor Juma Mulokole.
The concert aims to raise funds to support individuals in need, focusing on those who are unable to help themselves. The event will feature performances by renowned artists such as David Lutalo, Joseph Ngoma, Twina Habert, Joy Tendo, and Hozana Joy.
Responding to criticism regarding his collaboration with David Lutalo, Pastor Juma Mulokole clarified that they have a close friendship and have collaborated on the song “Holly,” which serves as the theme of the concert. He emphasized that his intentions were not to deviate from his religious beliefs but rather to utilize the platform to raise funds and help those in need.
“There are many pastors who have financial resources but fail to help the street children. If an artist like David Lutalo gives me an opportunity to raise funds for others, I cannot let this chance go to waste,” Pastor Juma Mulokole explained.
Having entered the music industry in early 2018 with his inspirational song titled “Amalalo,” Pastor Juma Mulokole has since become a prominent figure in the regional gospel music scene. His repertoire includes songs such as “Miracle,” “Calendar,” “Holly,” and “Jenvude,” which reflects his personal journey from childhood to his current position.
In addition to his music career, Pastor Juma Mulokole is dedicated to giving back to the community. He established the Answer Foundation Technical Institute, which offers vocational training in fields such as driving, mechanics, tailoring, and hairdressing to empower individuals who face socio-economic challenges.
The meeting between Pastor Juma Mulokole and media personalities was met with enthusiasm, as it demonstrated a collaborative approach rarely seen in the industry. Journalists expressed their appreciation for being involved in the planning process and emphasized the importance of a harmonious relationship between religious leaders and the media.
“Pastors and religious leaders sometimes distance themselves from us journalists, but they fail to realize that we play an essential role in spreading their message. We need each other to create positive change and promote unity,” said MC Jordan Omudinka, a presenter at Kiira FM.
Despite facing opposition from some pastors who question the involvement of non-BornAgain artists in the concert, media personalities urged religious leaders to come together and support the event. They emphasized that the concert’s main objective is to help street children and encouraged pastors to be the first to sponsor and rally behind the cause.
With unwavering faith and determination, Pastor Juma Mulokole expressed his gratitude for the support received thus far and called upon the community to unite and attend the concert at TransAfrica Gardens. He assured the public that the event would be a success, highlighting its mission to help those in need and emphasizing that he does not seek to antagonize religious leaders but rather invites them to join him in making a positive impact.
