Former Monitor Publications Limited Managing Director, Conrad Nkutu, has been appointed non-executive director of Bank of Africa Tanzania Limited.
The veteran media manager, according to the Bank of Africa website, was appointed to this position in May 22 and will be tasked with safeguarding the bank’s interests through the lawful, informed, efficient and able administration of the institution.
A management consultant and business leader, Nkutu is a director of multiple Ugandan companies, including Bank of Africa Uganda Ltd and 5 Ugandan hydropower companies (subsidiaries of Frontier Energy of Denmark); Greenewus Energy Africa Limited, Rwenzori Hydro Private Limited, Nyamagasani 2 HPP Ltd, Lubilio Kawembe Hydro Ltd and Elgon Hydro Siti Ltd.
He has extensive East African corporate management experience, having previously been country manager (Uganda) at the East African newspaper/ Nation Media group, Cooperate Secretary New Vision Printing and Publishing Corporation (Uganda); commercial director Standard Newspapers Group (Kenya), Managing Director Daily Monitor/ Sunday Monitor newspapers (Uganda), Group Business Development Director Nation Media Group and Managing Director Nation Broadcasting Division (TV and radio broadcasting Division of Nation Media Group (Kenya). He also served as Head of Corporate Affairs at Tullow Oil Uganda.
Nkutu is also a director at Strategos Consult Ltd, a business growth, risk management and loss to profit turnaround consulting firm.
He holds a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Printing and Publishing from the London College of Printing.
