The young and talented Busoga artist Mutwahir Kakaire, known by his stage name Acidic Vokoz, continues to gain popularity among music lovers as preparations for his highly anticipated Ndi Musoga concert ramp up.

The Ndi Musoga hitmaker has been putting pressure on music legends in Kampala and beyond with his dancehall and hip-hop lyrics, which have dominated both social media and mainstream media.

Acidic Vokoz’s first major concert in the capital city, Kampala, is scheduled for August 30, 2024, at the largest venue, the Cricket Oval in Lugogo.

As part of his promotional campaign leading up to the vibrant event in Lugogo, the singer caused a traffic jam in Jinja city on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, when he held a press conference to highlight the upcoming show.

During the press conference, Jinja’s busy Kutch Road was temporarily closed for nearly six hours (from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to accommodate the event. Acidic, accompanied by fellow Busoga trending vocalists Cilicon Avokoz and Victor Ruz, was seen waving to fans from an open-roof vehicle as they cheered along the route.

At the press event, Acidic was joined by female vocalist Voice Nancy, Afande Mia, Afande Oje, Slender Ug, and numerous radio and TV entertainment hosts from various media platforms.

The concert is presented and promoted by the long-time show promoter Abitex of Abitex Promotions, who promises that it will attract thousands of music lovers, filling Lugogo to capacity.

Addressing the media in Jinja, Acidic Vokoz expressed confidence that the support he has received so far will be multiplied on August 30.

“You always sing for me when I come to various shows. This time around, when we are in Lugogo, I will sing for you,” the singer said with his melodious voice.

With popular hits like “It’s Okay,” “Ndi Musoga,” “Nkulinako Crush,” “Njagala Gwe,” and “Last Chance,” Acidic is known for receiving overwhelming cheers while performing on stage. He believes that the same enthusiasm will be present at Lugogo.

A native of Namutumba District in eastern Uganda, Acidic gained fame in 2023 when he was named the Tourism Ambassador of Busoga Kingdom. His song “Ndi Musoga,” which celebrates the beauty of Busoga, helped him make a mark in the music industry.

According to Abitex, he supports Acidic due to his discipline, despite the young artist’s growing popularity.

“Busoga is producing a number of talented young musicians, and Acidic is now among the top ten singers in the country,” promoter Abitex stated, adding that he is doing everything possible to ensure the concert’s success.

He also mentioned, “Modern equipment will be installed at the Cricket Oval to ensure a top-notch performance for this young talent.”

Tickets for the concert are priced at Shs 20,000 for ordinary seats, Shs 50,000 for VIP, and Shs 2,000,000 for a table of six.

Recently, Victor Ruz achieved success with his concert at Kampala’s Kingdom Grounds.

Acidic joins a select group of Busoga artists who have made a significant impact in Kampala, including the legendary Racheal Magoola of Afrigo Band, Gen Mega Dee, John Blaq, Maro, and Roya Simba, among others.
