In a bid to maintain integrity and transparency in the registration process for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Yellow Book, registrars operating at the village level have received a stern warning against the inclusion of non-residents and misleading practices.
Speaking exclusively, Simon Wakaze, the Chairperson LC V of Luuka district, shed light on reports of non-residents attempting to register in Luuka under false pretenses. Wakaze emphasized the importance of registrars adhering to residency requirements and urged them to refrain from misleading individuals during the registration process. He emphasized the need for residents to actively participate in the registration process to ensure their eligibility to vote in the upcoming 2026 elections.
Additionally, Luuka North MP, Honorable Luke Kyobe Inhensiko, echoed Wakaze’s sentiments, urging residents to register in the Yellow Book to facilitate their participation in the NRM elections slated for 2026. Kyobe emphasized the significance of widespread registration to ensure effective representation and democratic decision-making within the party.
During a registration event in Naigobya, Bukooma Sub County, Luuka district, Kyobe personally engaged in the registration process, underscoring his commitment to facilitating the registration of constituents. Our reporter, Umar Ntogona, witnessed the event firsthand and provided insights into the ongoing registration efforts in Luuka North Constituency.
