The Uganda Cricket Association, along with local partners, has officially announced the ICC Challenge League B tournament, set to take place from November 4th to 16th, 2024. The tournament will be held at the Lugogo Cricket Oval and Entebbe Cricket Oval, where Uganda will compete against five other nations: Tanzania, Bahrain, Singapore, Italy, and Hong Kong China.

This tournament is significant as it serves as a pathway to the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Eng. Fred Lutaaya, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, expressed his excitement about hosting this event. He highlighted that it reflects the ICC’s confidence in Uganda as a capable host nation and encouraged fans to join in for what promises to be an unforgettable experience.

This will be Uganda’s second time hosting the Challenge League B, having previously organized the event in 2022. Nile Breweries, through its flagship brand Nile Special, has also partnered with the Uganda Cricket Cranes as the official beer sponsor for the tournament.

The tournament will kick off on November 6th, with Uganda facing Singapore.
