Not the way many wished to end the tournament that bowled off with a perfect weather on a Tuesday morning, but ended with two washed out games including the final between Uganda and Tanzania on a Sunday afternoon.

Uganda has been a better side than any other team throughout the tournament after registering crucial wins against a high ranked UAE, Tanzania, Rwanda and a draw against Kenya in a washed-out game, results that will impact on their T20I rankings from their current standing at 21.

Notable and phenomenal individual performances have been registered in the Uganda team with mainly the ball with the skipper leading from the front after picking four wickets in the Tanzania game, a moment that turned results in their favour as they registered a 7-wicket win. Aweko Consy and Janet Mbabazi went on to register 7 and 6 wickets respectively in 3 innings to help Uganda win the second Victoria series outing.

The Victoria Pearls only depended on the ball to produce the much-needed result in the all the three innings they engaged in, after chasing the required scores in all the games they played.

On the other hand, both UAE and Tanzania picked two wins but Tanzania qualified for the final with a better run rate than UAE but a downpour on a Sunday morning and afternoon left the side with no option but to see Uganda win the series with more group wins than them.

Kenya was seen struggling in all the three games they played but had a proper start to their chase in the opening game of the series against UAE on Tuesday morning, but once their top order was lost, the rest of the batters barely added any score to their names as they lost by 15 runs and later lost to Rwanda and Tanzania before picking a draw against Uganda in a washed-out game.

Despite the lows of the weather in the last two days of the tournament, the rest of the games went on as it was planed by the organisers with a number of supporters turning up to watch the games.

Victoria Pearls will now shift their focus to the upcoming Quadrangular 2023 games scheduled to start on Monday 24th April 2023 to 2nd May 2023 in Namibia with hosts, UAE and Hong Kong.  Uganda will hope to build on the result picked during the Victoria Series to act as a big boost in their upcoming fixture.
