The Uganda police force recently embarked on the countrywide recruitment of determined and patriotic citizens willing to serve their country through keeping law and order.
Several educated individuals aged between 18 and 23 years embraced the move and successfully submitted in their applications to take the role of maintaining overall security and public safety in Uganda.
The important security arm last month released a list of successful applicants shortlisted for the designation of Probationer Police Constables (PPCs) in the force. Dates for interviews of potential candidates were scheduled and shall be conducted at the designated recruitment centers across the country.
Kiira regional police which covers Jinja district and Jinja city, is set to hold the exercise on April 12, 2024, at Jinja National Agricultural show grounds. The exercise, according to SP James Mubi, the region’s spokesperson, starts at 7am.
“All those who applied should cross-check for their names with the three policing divisions that is to say CPS Jinja Central division, CPS Kakira division and CPS Buwenge division or cross-check with Kiira regional police headquarters for any inquiry or concerns about the same,” Mubi said on Tuesday.
Mubi informed Busoga Today that candidates will undergo fitness tests, aptitude tests, oral tests, and medical examinations.
Other Busoga districts like Iganga, Luuka, Kamuli, Namutumba, and Buyende shall conduct the interviews on April 8, 9, 9, and 10 respectively While Kaliro, Namayingo, and Mayuge, the exercise shall take place on April 11, 13, and 14, respectively.
Police however emphasizes that successful applicants must be true and recognized citizens of Uganda, possessing original national identity cards and original academic documents.
“They must come along with their original identity cards, original academic documents without fail,” Mubi added before wishing them successful physical activities.
