Parents were urged to fight and be active in this world as they educate their children in things that will develop them. These words were spoken by the Chairman of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council who is also the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of the Busoga Kingdom Owek. Prof. Muhammad Lubega Kisambira while speaking at Nile High School Kiyunga in Luuka district when they were celebrating the 20th anniversary of the school.
Prof. Lubega Muhammad lamented because of the parents who are known for the bad things their children do and urged parents to change and be known for the good things their children have rather than the bad things. He also donated 200 bags of cement and 10 million Uganda shillings to help build a science laboratory at Nile High School Kiyunga in Luuka district.
‘’Let us support this school and give it to the students to enable it to further develop, the second reason Nile to develop needs a science laboratory I as Prof. Lubega Muhammad I will give them 200 bags of cement and on behalf of my father late Hajji Juma Luwangula, Allah forgive him and on behalf of my mother late Nabirye Mwajuma, Allah forgive her I will add 10 million Uganda Shillings.” Prof. Lubega said.
Luuka North constituency MP Hon. Luke Kyobe Inhensiko, who delivered his message through his political assistant Muzaaya Buruhani Mbalumya, urged the students to finish their studies so that they can love themselves in this world. He also urged leaders not to mislead the vulnerable children by using them for political reasons but to advise them what they should do right to help this generation develop. Kyobe also donated 1million Uganda Shillings to help build a science laboratory at Nile High school.
Luuka LC V chairman Simon Wakaze urged parents to give Nile high to their children and pledged as the district chairman to support Nile in any situation. Wakaze thanked Prof. Lubega for supporting development in Luuka and asked God to give him what he wanted most.
Head of Old boys’ and Old girls at the school Daniel Munaba urged his four classmates to work together so that they can hang the flag of their school so that it does not disappear while they are watching.
Nile High School Kiyunga started in 2003 with 7 students and in 2008 secured UNEB center number for “O” level and in 2012 got a center number for “A” level.
The ceremony was attended by NRM Iganga chairman Hajji Baker Walubi and NRM Luuka C/man Hajji Meddie Mulumba. The directors of the school, Mayinja Ronald Bumali along with his friend Mwase Gideon Ronald said that although the school has traveled a journey of 20 years but the good things they have achieved are immense including, the Muslim community providing them with a mosque, they have secured three water sources i.e. the National water source and two boreholes, to nurture discipline in students, to maintain good academics performance since 2003, to send their students to university etc.
