    Museveni reshuffles RDCs, makes key appointments and demotions

    President Yoweri Museveni has made transfers among his Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and City Commissioners (RCCs), along with their deputies.

    The State House confirmed this development on Monday, August 18, 2024. The president appointed the commissioners, exercising his powers as prescribed in Articles 99 and 203 of the 1995 Uganda Constitution.

    “In exercise of the powers conferred upon the President of the Republic of Uganda by Articles 99 and 203 of the 1995 Constitution (as amended); I hereby appoint the following Resident District/City Commissioners, Deputies, and Commissioners at the RDC Secretariat,” reads the statement released by the Presidential Press Unit (PPU), dated August 15, 2024.

    Mr. Darius Nandinda, who has been representing Museveni in Jinja City, has been transferred to Fort Portal City. Ambrose Anoria has been moved to Gulu City, Badru Mugabi to Hoima City, while Richard Gulume Balyaino was transferred from Jinja District to Jinja City as the RCC.

    Ronald Katende remains in Luuka District, Majid Dhikusooka stays in Pallisa, and Rose Birungi continues in Kamuli District. David Kulaba Isabirye was also retained in Namayingo District as RDC.

    Lira City received Lawrence Emmy Egole, Hudu Hussein was assigned to Masaka City, Catherine Kamwine was transferred to Mbarara City, and Asumin Nasike was moved to Mbale City.

    Andrew Ntange, who has been the Deputy RCC for Fort Portal City, was sent to the village as the Deputy RDC for rural Jinja District. Kato Dauda is now the Deputy RDC for Iganga District, among other commissioners.

    Museveni also appointed Maj. Martha Asimwe as the head of the RDC Secretariat, and Sir Grace Akiror as the deputy head. Hon. Nakato Kyabangi was appointed in charge of Central Buganda, Fredrick Mbagadi Nkayi in charge of Kampala Metropolitan, Fred Bamwine for the Karamoja region, while Col. Aggrey Damuzungu Oguli was appointed in charge of the Eastern region.

    Dr. James Tweheyo is the head of the Rwenzori region, James Mwesigye (Lt. Col.) for the Western region, and Alice Opio Akello was appointed in charge of the Northern region.
