The pace of development in Luuka North constituency is hitting the fast lane, thanks to the initiatives of Luuka North MP Hon. Luke Kyobe Inhensiko. In a recent move aimed at enhancing economic opportunities for the youth and improving healthcare facilities, Hon. Kyobe has donated a car wash machine and provided support to a local health center.
The car wash machine was presented to the Abanubuzi group, a team of youths engaged in car and motorcycle washing in Kiyunga town, Luuka district. Hon. Kyobe handed over the machine to boost their efficiency and income-generating activities. He also offered an initial fuel fund of 200,000/= and pledged to cover the license fees for the operating area for the year 2024–2025.
Expressing his motivation behind the gesture, Hon. Kyobe emphasized his commitment to assisting youth engaged in small income-generating activities, aiming to alleviate poverty and foster self-development. He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the machine effectively and encouraged residents to support local businesses by bringing their vehicles for washing.
Luuka RDC Ronald Katende echoed the sentiment, urging the youths to love and invest time in their work, emphasizing the potential for personal and community development through dedicated effort.
Mayor of Luuka town council, Kawuta Akabway, emphasized the importance of preserving the machine and avoiding its sale to ensure sustained economic growth for the youth.
The donated car wash machine is of the Gasoline type. The members of the Abanubuzi group, led by their chairman Nalugodha Brian alias Bikaba, expressed gratitude to Hon. Kyobe for the support, promising to use the machine efficiently to enhance their income.
In another move to enhance the well-being of the community, Hon. Kyobe visited Budhana Health Centre II, where he donated three mattresses to improve patient conditions. Additionally, he provided solar lights to the residents of Budhana trading center, aiming to enhance security in the area and facilitate nighttime economic activities.
Hon. Kyobe’s contributions to healthcare and community security were met with appreciation from health workers and local leaders. Waiswa Sweibu, a health worker at Budhana Health Centre II, commended the MP for addressing the pressing needs of the health facility, while Sheikh Babidaza Aminsi and local residents expressed gratitude for the solar lights, anticipating positive impacts on development and security in the Budhana area.
