In a candid address at the launch of the Abaana Abeeka Development Association (AADA) in Luuka district, Luuka South MP Hon. Kisa Stephen Bakubalwayo expressed his concerns about the prevalent treachery, corruption, quarrels, and unwillingness within the people of Busoga Sub-region. He emphasized that these issues have hindered the development of Busoga, urging the community to unite for progress.

During the event held at the Hawaii International Hotel in Luuka district, Hon. Kisa Stephen highlighted the regrettable trend of individuals pulling down their fellow Basoga when they achieve success. He emphasized the need for a collective vision that fosters development and encouraged people to engage in activities that elevate them from poverty.

Hon. Eng. Luke Kyobe Inhensiko, Luuka North MP, also attended the event, supporting the call for unity and development in the region. Hon. Kisa donated 3 million Uganda shillings to AADA as seed capital to aid in its developmental initiatives.

The MP urged the youth to support the NRM government, attributing the current peace in the region to the efforts of the government. Sam Ibanda Mugabi, president of the Uganda Parliamentary Press Association (UPPA) and mobilizer of AADA, emphasized the importance of love and partnership in life, emphasizing the association’s goal to work collectively for Luuka’s development.

Simon Wakaze, chairman of Busoga consortium and Chairman LC V Luuka district, commended the youth’s commitment and pledged to facilitate assistance from both the central government and the Luuka district local government. Resty Kawoowo, a female district councilor in Luuka and an aspiring Woman MP, encouraged collaboration between the youth and local leaders for the district’s development.

Prince John Ibanda Badibyalawa, the general secretary of the Luuka monarchy, urged members to preserve their culture and traditions. Mafumo Adoia, Deputy RDC of Butaleja, emphasized the importance of cultural preservation as a means to alleviate poverty.

Nagaya Meddie, chairperson of Abaana Abeeka Development Association (AADA), outlined the association’s objectives, including providing skills to school dropouts, combating teenage pregnancies, addressing poverty in the 15-50 age group, and supporting people with disabilities.
