The event was attended by thousands of Kyabazinga’s subjects who traveled from various chiefdoms within the Busoga sub-region.

The Kyabazinga, who arrived around 3:30 PM, flagged off the game between Busiki  and Bugweri  alongside notable figures including Busoga Kingdom’s 2nd Deputy Prime Minister Owek. Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor, Issabalangira of Busoga Prince Samuel Zirabamuzale Nkutu, Kyabazinga Affairs Minister Owek. Yudaya Babirye, Culture Minister Owek. Richard Mafumo, Minister of State for Youth Owek. James Mukembo, Sports Minister Owek. Amin Bbosa, Royal Chiefs, and MTN Uganda officials, among others.

Upon arrival, the Kyabazinga majestically walked around the playground, waving to his subjects who had gathered to watch the opening game.

The monarch took to the center of the field and showcased his impressive skills by kicking the ball, receiving applause from the crowd.

He watched the opening match of the tournament, which will see the 14 counties of Busoga Kingdom compete at various playgrounds across all chiefdoms.

Both teams displayed significant talent, but ultimately, Busiki , the defending champions, lost to Bugweri  with a score of 2-0.

Owek. Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor commended the soccer fans for attending the game in large numbers. He also praised the main sponsor, MTN Uganda, and other sponsors like Nile Breweries for their support of the Masaza Cup tournament.
