LUWEERO: Kampala University Basoga students have unveiled a new fundraising drive aimed at raising money to support various projects in Busoga sub-region.

Under their umbrella body Kampala University Basoga Nseete Students Association abbreviated as ‘KUBANSA’, the students resolved to contribute money to procure office equipment, buy utensils for the association as well as organize a trip to Busoga region to preach the gospel of unity and prosperity.

The campaign was announced during a meeting held at Kampala University’s Luweero campus on Thursday.

In an interview with Busoga Today, the Member of Parliament representing students from Kamuli district, Mary Kyakuwaire, observed that Busoga sub-region is still lagging behind in terms of development.

“We need to bolster our association as well as sensitize our people about unity and development. Busoga sub-region has a lot of potential and what is lacking is harnessing this potential,” Kyakuwaire said.

The KUBANSA chairperson, Emmanuel Majowa, commended members for attending the fundraiser and being ambassadors of Busoga sub-region.

He called upon the university administration to support the association to fulfill its goals.

Majowa also urged members to participate in the upcoming tour dubbed “Visit Busoga” which will take place on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

The association spokesperson, Muwaya Balakyi, told Busoga Today that the drive is still ongoing and urged Basoga students and friends of Busoga to contribute to the noble cause.

The drive comes at a time when the Kyabazinga of Busoga Gabula Nadiope IV is rooting for unity and development of the region.
