Jinja: The Jinja Scouts Camp commenced on Thursday at the Campsite Buwenda in Jinja city, marking its 30th anniversary with a four-day celebration. The camp not only serves as a milestone event but also includes district schools competitions aimed at selecting the most talented individuals who will represent Jinja at the national level.

Numerous schools from Jinja city and Jinja district have flocked to the camp, eagerly participating in a variety of activities such as kitchen construction, carpentry, agricultural tasks, and a current affairs quiz, among others.

Paul Madanda Jembrace, an esteemed Jinja scout accessor, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We anticipate the participation of numerous scouts from various parts of Uganda as we celebrate the 30 years of this remarkable campsite.”

He further emphasized that Jinja scouts have consistently showcased their exceptional skills and prowess, having frequently represented Uganda at international levels.

The schools in attendance, consisting of dedicated campers, have expressed their preparedness and competence following thorough training. Mr. Hamis Kaako from Mother Kevin Secondary School in Masese, Jinja City, confidently stated that his competitors would not miss being the best.

“I have brought along 38 students who are well-equipped with skills. We are simply awaiting the trophy because we are certain of victory,” he proudly declared.

The camp will conclude on Sunday, June 25, with the honorable presence of the main celebrant, Honorable Rebecca Kadaga, the East African Community Affairs Minister and first Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda.
