Avengers Cricket Club won the UCA Championship League final after defeating JACC in an intense 50-over match at Jinja SS Cricket Oval.

In what seemed like a promising start for JACC, they won the toss and opted to field first, aiming to restrict Avengers’ batting lineup.

JACC’s bowlers, led by Eddy Agaba’s impressive performance, managed to keep the Avengers’ scoring rate in check. Agaba took 4 crucial wickets, supported by Sadam Oyaga and Marvin Kitamirike, who claimed 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Despite early setbacks, Avengers’ Kothari Utkarsh Chandrakant anchored the innings with a solid 53 runs, steering his team to a total of 140 runs before being bowled out in 41 overs.

In response, JACC faced a challenging target but started with determination. Puwata Ronald, who had a better game in their semifinal clash against Soroti City, and Sadam Oyaga formed a promising opening partnership.

However, JACC struggled to maintain momentum as Avengers’ bowlers tightened their grip. Pravin Gadhvi emerged as the hero, taking 4 crucial wickets and dismantling JACC’s batting lineup.

Despite contributions from other players like Habib Mugalula and Marvin Kitamirike, JACC fell short of the target, getting bowled out for 114 runs in 31.4 overs. However, both teams will be playing in the UCA National Premier League with JACC having it’s first ever experience.
