On Saturday, Hon. Akamba Paul, the Member of Parliament for Busiki Constituency, had his first dinner with his supporters and family. Hon. Akamba Paul was granted bail on Friday by Her Majesty Justice Jano Akuwo of the Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala. He managed to meet his supporters from Busiki Constituency at his home in Bubutia Village, Bulange Sub-County, Namutumba District.

In his speech, Hon. Akamba expressed his happiness and excitement to meet his family and constituency after spending 80 days in jail. He thanked various members of parliament, especially the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, for her efforts to secure his release. He also expressed gratitude to the members of parliament from the Busoga region, who worked hard to ensure his release so he could serve his constituency.

Hon. Akamba acknowledged that his constituency had missed out on a lot during his absence, but he promised to work hard to make up for the lost time. He also thanked the security forces in Namutumba for their support during his journey home. However, he urged them to remain neutral and not misuse their power, emphasizing that all Ugandans deserve freedom and peaceful service.

Speaking to his supporters, Hon. Akamba’s supporters thanked the NRM party for fighting to get him out of jail so he could return to parliament and serve the people of his constituency. They expressed that they had missed having their constituency represented in parliament for over two months
