JINJA-Gaddafi FC have officially unveiled Wasswa Bbosa as their new head coach in a two-year deal.

The unveiling ceremony was held on Thursday at the Club’s home ground Gaddafi Arena in Jinja district.

The former Express FC coach has now set his eyes to winning the title.

“I promise the Gaddafi FC fans that the team is going to be competitive in the 2022/2023 season. Our targets are set on fighting for the trophy and we are going to compete for it,” Bbosa said.

Bbosa is banking on support from the club, his past experience and a good technical team to work with.

He will be assisted by George Lutalo and Hassan Zungu. Ayub Balyejusa is the trainer while former Cranes goalkeeper Sam Kawalya will handle the goalkeepers.

Lutalo, now with Crested Cranes in Morocco for Women AFCON, was previously at Onduparaka Football Club.

“In football, you are as old as what you offer. Young or old as long as you can deliver, you will play. But the aim is to lift the name of the Club,” Bbosa said.

Kawalya and Balyejusa were with Bbosa at Express while Zzungu has been at Gaddafi. Bbosa is expected to move with some former Express players, including John Byamukama and Godfrey Lwesibawa.

Meanwhile, on the side of the sponsorship, Gadaffi has rebranded from Gadaffi FC to Modern Football Club FC under their Motto ‘Passion Performance Pride’. The sponsorship will run for over 10 years.

The Modern bosses promised to sponsor the club right from the match allowance, win allowance and salary.

Gaddafi finished 8th on the log with 37 points in the league last season.
