Kamuli: The Kamuli District Chief Magistrate Court has remanded a 45-year-old father on allegations of defiling his daughters. Julius Bagoole, a resident of Kamuli Municipality, is accused of engaging in illicit relationships with his three biological young daughters, whom he allegedly trafficked to different locations.

The minors, whose identities are withheld, are aged 17, 15, and 13, respectively. According to the police, the accused individual has been under investigation for defilement following reports from various whistleblowers.

“The accused person has been under police investigation for allegedly defiling his three biological children,” stated Michael Kasadha, the Busoga North Region police spokesperson.

The distressing information emerged after one of the victims confided in her peers, who subsequently informed their mother, identified as Nabirye. Outraged, the mother reported the matter to Kamuli police station, leading to the apprehension of the suspect.

The suspect was arraigned before the Kamuli Chief Magistrate Court on Friday, facing three counts of aggravated defilement and two counts of aggravated trafficking in children.

“Each child is counted independently. He is facing three counts of aggravated defilement,” clarified Kasadha.

Reports suggest that the accused Bagoole had been claiming that he was protecting his children from spiritual rituals since last year. Kasadha urged leaders, residents, and other stakeholders to promptly report such unlawful practices to advocate for the rights of children in communities.
