The Deputy Katikiro of Busiki Chiefdom in the Busoga Kingdom, who is also the Director of Administration and Human Resources at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), Dr. Kaggwa Peter, has urged schools and parents to embrace Music, Dance, and Drama (MDD). He emphasized that MDD is a lucrative industry in Uganda, with many individuals achieving wealth and success through their talents in this field.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Busoga Nalufuka Regional MDD Competition, held at Busesa Mixed Boarding and Day Primary School in Bugweri District.
Dr. Kaggwa, through the chiefdom, pledged support for school dropouts in developing skills to help them succeed.
Godfrey Nabwiso, Chairperson of the Busoga Nalufuka Regional MDD, announced that 12 schools participated, with seven excelling after a rigorous selection process. These seven schools will represent the Busoga Sub-region at the national level in Mbale, from August 25th to September 4th.

Owek Simon Peter Basangwa Wakudumira, Katikiro of Busiki Chiefdom, emphasized that MDD promotes culture and norms. He assured support for these schools at the national level.
The Inspector of Schools in Iganga Municipality, as well as the Chairperson of Schools in the Busoga region, Kabambwe Bernard, urged parents and teachers to promote MDD, highlighting that music is part of the curriculum and plays an essential role in the teaching and learning process.
