Mbarara City and BUL played to a tie at Kakyeka stadium, leaving BUL’s hopes of winning the Uganda Premier League trophy uncertain.
Before the game began, there was a delay because one of the goal posts fell down during warm-up. It was quickly fixed, and the match started.
Earlier in the first half, Ibrahim, playing for BUL against his old team Mbarara City, nearly scored, but his header missed the target.
Towards the end of the first half, BUL kept pressing Mbarara City’s defense. Ronald Otti thought he scored, but the referee disallowed the goal.
BUL made two substitutions to try to break the deadlock. Coach Abbey Kikomeko brought on Alex Kitata , but neither team could find the net, and the game ended 0-0.
BUL, who were leading the UPL table before this game, now sit in third place with 53 points after playing 28 matches.
In another match, SC Villa came from behind to beat URA 2-1, moving them to the top of the table. Vipers, the defending champions grabbed a 2-1 win over Busoga United, KCCA demolished Wakiso Giants with a 4-0 win, Kitara faced a 1-0 loss to Bright Stars and Maroons were held in Bombo to a 2-1 defeat by UPDF FC.
BUL Football Club will have to depend on other results to have hopes of winning their first ever Uganda Premier League trophy when they take on Busoga United in a Jinja derby this Saturday.
