BUL Football Club celebrated their first home win of the season, defeating Bright Stars 1-0 in a tightly contested match at Lugazi. The game’s only goal came from Anwar Ntege, who headed the ball into the net in the 9th minute after a well-placed free kick by Nicholas Mwere.

This victory is significant for BUL, as they had not won in their first four games. Now, with three wins in a row, they have moved up to fourth place in the league with eleven points from seven matches.

On the other hand, Bright Stars are struggling. They remain winless this season and sit at the bottom of the table with just three points from seven games. This loss adds more pressure on their coach, Joseph Mutyaba, as he tries to turn the team’s fortunes around.

The match was not full of clear chances, with both teams having trouble creating opportunities. Besides Ntege’s goal, BUL had a couple of near-misses, including a shot that hit the crossbar. Bright Stars’ best chance came when Nelson Ssenkatuka could not score from a good setup.

BUL will play against Mbale Heroes on Sunday in their next fixture, while Bright Stars will face Kitara at Kavumba on Friday.
