The national men’s cricket team, The Cricket Cranes, flew out of the country on Monday, April 4 ahead of the scheduled five-game series in Namibia. NATIONAL — Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has hailed the late Agriculture minister Wilberforce Kisamba Mugerwa for founding the Uganda Microfinance Support Centre (UMFSC) that has been instrumental in promoting entrepreneurship in the country. COURT – The Commercial Division of the High Court has set aside the execution of the warrant of arrest against the managing director of Dei Minerals International, Mr Mathias Magoola in a case where a former minister wants to be paid UGX268 billion in legal fees. NATIONAL — The Minister of Health, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, has explained the various ailments that led to the demise of former speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah. Addressing Parliament on Tuesday, 05 April 2022, Dr Aceng said the immediate causes of Oulanyah’s were multiple organ failure (the heart failed, the kidneys failed, the lungs failed, the liver failed). “He had multiple bacteria infections and viral infections which were discovered in Seattle,” she said. NATIONAL — Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has said the requirement for a parent’s National Identification Card to register a candidate does not apply to those of 2022. The UNEB authorities are quoted by the New Vision on Monday April 4, 2022 that registration for IDs is a requirement for only taking about students that enrolled under the revised competence based lower secondary school curriculum.
