On Sunday, Rounders Cricket Club recovered from their back to back defeats against JACC to secure a win against Jinja SS Cricket Club at the Jinja SS Oval.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Rounders CC managed 103 runs with the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Zulu Walaza (22 runs off 32 balls) and Narinder Singh (29 runs off 40 balls) led the charge, while the middle order faced challenges in scoring.

Jinja SS’s bowling attack, spearheaded by Michu Faizo (4/16 in 4 overs) and Magezi Ronald (2/16 in 3 overs), applied pressure effectively, restricting Rounders CC to a chasable total. In response, Jinja SS chased down the target with ease, reaching 104/4 in 19.1 overs, securing victory by 6 wickets.

Rounders CC bounced back to claim a win in the afternoon game as they managed to score a competitive total of 116 in 20 overs. Aaron Kusasira (35 runs off 34 balls) led the batting charge, supported by Jonathan Nyiiro and Narinder Singh, each scoring 16 runs.

Jinja SS faced a daunting task in their innings, collapsing to a mere 27 in 10.4 overs as they were unable to withstand Rounders CC’s bowling onslaught. Tembo Zubair (6/2 in 4 overs) spearheaded Rounders CC’s bowling attack, with support from Pius Oluka and Irishad Suleman, each claiming 2 wickets as they bowled out Jinja SS to claim an 89-run victory.

Meanwhile, Jinja SS will finish their Group stage fixture against struggling Premier cricket club.
