Senior Four candidates across the country will this Friday start their Uganda Certificate Education (UCE) examinations.

According to the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) time table, the exams will commence on October 14, 2022 with the briefing of candidates and end on November 18, 2022.

A section of teachers and school heads intimated to this website that they have done enough to prepare the candidates.

“We have used the time optimally to prepare our candidates and we believe our candidates are ready,” said Amis Meeme, the director of studies at Seed of Faith High School Bulanga.

Students that this reporter interviewed said they are ready for what appears to be the greatest test of their life.

“We have been holding discussions and consulting with our teachers and I am sure I have got what it takes to sit for the UNEB exams,” said Nathira Nakato, a Senior Four candidate at Seed of Faith High School Bulanga.

Reagan Balikulinga, a Senior Four candidate at the same school, said he is fully ready for the forthcoming examinations.

“I have got all the items I need for the examination and I am only waiting for the D-day,” Balikulinga said.

Valley View Secondary School head teacher Stephen Nyende during an exclusive interview with this website said he has worked hard to create a conducive atmosphere for his candidates.

“I managed to secure a UNEB center for the school and also put in place the necessary infrastructure as per UNEB standards to make the candidates comfortable,” Nyende said.

“We have already arranged where the candidates will sit their exams and we have also tried to be lenient with candidates who have school fees balances so as to let them prepare for the exams,” Nyende added.

Amina Namugaya, one of the Senior Four candidates at Valley View Secondary School, commended the teachers for the great support and encouragement they have rendered to them.

In a related development, Martin Lukungu, the director of studies at Iganga Progressive SS noted that the school has worked hard to prepare the students despite the challenge posed by the COVID19 pandemic.

“When the lockdown was lifted, many students didn’t turn up, several got married while others changed school but still we managed to register over 200 students for this year’s UNEB exams,” Lukungu said.
