In his ongoing engagements in Canada, Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV has met and held bilateral talks with the National Chief of the Aboriginal People of Canada, Elmer St. Pierre.

The main focus of the meeting held at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa was aimed at fostering relationship between the native chiefs of Canada and Busoga Kingdom.

In his remarks, the Kyabazinga urged the natives to work with Busoga Kingdom in the areas of health, education, agriculture, industry and technology.

“The Kingdom is open to all developmental initiatives aimed at uplifting the living standards of our people. I, therefore, implore you to prioritize doing some developmental ventures with us,” the Kyabazinga said.

He emphasized the need to consider the key areas as mentioned above, revealing that they will have a multiplier effect in the short and long run.

On their part, Elmer St.Pierre revealed that establishing new networks for cooperation is the way to go for people and institutions with similar intentions.

Estimated to be two million people, these native Canadians showcased their culture before the King and his entourage that included Uganda’s High Commissioner to Canada,H.E Jane Ruth Achieng, Hon.Mariam Naigaga (Namutumba WMP),Hon.John Teira (Bugabula North), Owek.Joan Machora (Minister of Foreign Affairs in Busoga Kingdom) and Moses Isanga (chairperson of Abasoga in Canada), among others.

The natives, who are highly respected in Canada and are into charity work to support humanity, have since accepted to reciprocate the Kyabazinga’s visit with one in Busoga in the near future as a way of strengthening ties between the two traditional adherents.
