At Lugogo Cricket Oval, both Wanderers and Rounders secured their spots in the final of 2024 UG T20 with convincing semifinal victories.

In the first game, Wanderers defeated Ceylon Lions by 4 wickets. Ceylon Lions batted first and posted 136 for 8 in their 20 overs. Charles Musemeza’s 51 off 40 balls was the standout performance, but Wanderers’ bowler Muhamad Shaaf, with 3 wickets for 24 runs, ensured the score remained manageable.

Wanderers had a shaky start in their chase, with Wasim Butt (24) and Perry Wazombe (12) departing early. However, Abu Seguya (31 off 30) and Amanpreet Singh (35 off 31) steadied the innings. Frank Nsubuga’s quick 14 off 8 balls finished the chase with 13 balls to spare.

In the second semifinal, Rounders overcame Tornado by 6 wickets. Tornado, after choosing to bat, struggled to form solid partnerships. Ajuna Robert (27) was their top scorer as they were bowled out for just 87 in 17 overs. Brian Masaba and David Mwesigwa both picked up 3 wickets for Rounders.

Rounders had a slow start, but Narinder Singh (32 off 28) and Pius Oluka (18 off 27) kept the chase on track. Aaron Kusasira’s 21 off 12 balls finished the job, as Rounders reached the target with 6 wickets in hand and 5 overs left.
