JACC once again came on top in the ongoing UCA Championship T20 League 2024 with two commanding victories against Premier CC in the morning and afternoon games at Jinja SS cricket oval on Sunday to secure a spot in DIV1 50-Over Qualifiers.

In the morning encounter, JACC opted to field first after winning the toss, restricting Premier CC to a meager total of 78 runs for the loss of all their wickets in 18 overs. Shah Prakash top-scored for Premier CC with 24 runs off 30 balls, supported by Chrirag Patel (11 runs) and Pritesh Patel (13 runs). However, they were the only players to reach double figures as JACC’s bowlers dominated the innings. Kitamirike Marvin and Nuwagaba Edwin starred with the ball, each picking up three wickets to restrict Premier CC’s batting lineup.

Chasing a modest target, JACC comfortably reached the target of 79 runs, losing only three wickets in 8.4 overs. Agaba Eddy played a stellar innings, remaining unbeaten with 40 runs off just 18 balls, well-supported by Puwata Ronald (21 runs) and Nuwagaba Edrin (13 runs). Premier CC’s Ferian Ali managed to take three wickets but couldn’t prevent JACC from securing a 7-wicket victory with 11.2 overs to spare.

In the afternoon game, JACC once again chose to field first, and Premier CC struggled to build partnerships, posting a total of 106 runs for the loss of all their wickets in 20 overs. Hiral Patel top-scored for Premier CC with 32 runs off 22 balls, supported by Ferian Ali (19 runs) and Kashyap Waghani (11 runs). However, JACC’s bowlers, led by Lukwita John’s 3 wickets, restricted Premier CC’s scoring opportunities.

Chasing a target of 107 runs, JACC’s batsmen delivered a clinical performance, with Agaba Eddy (48 runs off 40 balls) and Kenneth Waiswa (36 runs off 23 balls) guiding their team to victory. JACC reached the target with 7 wickets in hand and 32 balls to spare, securing their second win of the day.

With these two wins, JACC secures a spot in the DIV1-50 Over Qualifiers after topping Group B in the UCA Championship T20 League 2024 with 12 points, with second placed Rounder CC at only 4 points and two games in hand.
