Kamuli: A shocking discovery was made on Saturday morning at Savannah Guest House in Gabula-Kitimbo Zone, Kasoigo Ward, Northern Division, Kamuli Municipality. Police found the lifeless body of an unidentified female, prompting an immediate investigation.

According to ASP Michael Kasadha, Regional Spokesperson for Busoga North, the police received information about the death at around 8:00 am on January 11, 2025. “We got a call from the guest house, and our team rushed to the scene,” ASP Kasadha said.

Preliminary findings suggest that the guest house, which had only started operating a week ago, did not have a client registration record, as required by law. This raises serious concerns about the management of the guest house and the circumstances surrounding the mysterious death.

The manager of Savannah Guest House, Joseph Takayuka, has been arrested to aid in the investigation. “We are holding him for questioning to establish the events leading to the death,” ASP Kasadha explained.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Kamuli General Hospital mortuary for a postmortem. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death and other facts surrounding the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information about the deceased or the circumstances surrounding her death to come forward. “We need the public’s help to piece together what happened,” ASP Kasadha appealed.

As the investigation continues, the community is left in shock, wondering how such a tragedy could occur in their midst.
