    The Boys’ Schools Cricket Week returns to Jinja from August 25 to 31 with 18 secondary schools that earned their spots through regional qualifiers. Starting this Sunday, matches will be held at six venues: Jinja SSS (Main Oval), Jinja College (two venues), Busoga College Mwiri, Kakira SS, and Kiira PS.

    This year, Kololo SS will not be participating, missing out on the chance to defend their title after failing to qualify. However, two new schools are joining the event for the first time. Horizon International School and Shree Sahajanand School Uganda have qualified from the Nile and Central regions, respectively.

    As the defending champions, Jinja SS will be aiming to retain their title, but will face stiff competition from Busoga College Mwiri, who have a strong track record with 19 previous wins. Last year, Mwiri reached the semifinals but fell short of victory.

    Full list of schools;

    Eastern Region: Soroti SS, Teso College Aloet
    Northern Region: Gulu High School, St Joseph’s College Layibi
    Nile Region (Jinja): Jinja SS, Kira College Butiki, St James SS, Busoga College Mwiri, Horizon International School
    Central Region: Ndejje SS, Delhi Public School, Shree Sahajanand School Uganda, St Johns SS, Aga Khan High School, Kings College Budo
    Western Region: Nyakasura School
    South Western Region: Masaka SS, Ntare School
