Jinja: Busoga United FC secured a hard-fought victory against visiting Kataka FC at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe, Jinja City, on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

The match intensified in the first half when Anthony Mayanja scored the opening goal for Busoga United. Despite Kataka FC’s relentless efforts, they were unable to find the back of the net, ultimately succumbing to a 1-0 defeat.

The victory is a crucial one for Busoga United FC, who hosted the match in front of their passionate home crowd.

Busoga United is determined to rebuild momentum in its quest for a top position in the FUFA Big League.

Meanwhile, Matchday 16 of the 2024/2025 season delivered a mix of victories and stalemates, with the following results:

    • Buhimba U. Saints FC 2-1 Calvary FC
    • Arua Hill SC 1-1 Blacks Power FC
    • Gaddafi FC 0-1 Kaaro Karungi FC
    • Ntugasaze FC 1-1 Kigezi Homeboyz FC
    • Busoga United FC 1-0 Kataka FC
    • Myda FC 1-0 Kiyinda Boys FC
    • Paidha B. Angles SC 3-1 Onduparaka FC

Busoga United head coach Eric Ndifuna’s tactical approach appears to be paying off. Speaking in a pre-match press conference on Saturday, he expressed confidence in his revamped squad, led by Anthony Mayanja.

His faith was vindicated on Sunday as Busoga United launched a formidable attack against Kataka FC.

Coach Ndifuna emphasized that the team’s primary objective is to reclaim its former glory in the Uganda Premier League.

Team captain Didi Muhammad praised the squad’s performance, asserting that their collective efforts will drive Busoga United to greater success.
