BUGEMBE — The Kingdoms of Busoga is set to roll out music festival to promote culture and heritage among subjects and other residents.

Dubbed ‘Ekikudhuko kya Busoga’, the annual bazar will be hosted in Jinja and will see diverse aspects of cultural heritage of Busoga on display, according to kingdom officials.

The multi-billion initiative was sealed by Owek’ Joseph Muvawala Nsekere, the Katukiro of Busoga on behalf of Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula IV, with  with events management guru Andrew Mukasa Bajjo of Bajjo Events.

“Music is also one of the avenues of promoting our culture. It’s against that background that BKK signed an MOU with Bajjo Events which will organize the event annually.” Bajjo told the Kampala Guardian, an online news site.

Busoga Today could not readily establish the exact timeline the Ekikudhuko kya Busoga will be launched but sources say the signing of the deal, last month, has already paved the way for Bajjo Events to get the drums rolling.

Meanwhile, the multi-billion deal was also signed with  the Obukama bwa Bunyoro and will see a similar cultural entertainment that is modelled along Buganda’s ‘Enkuuka’ rolled out in Hoima.

Owek’ Andrew Byakutaaga signed on behalf of the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, a fete that will be called ”Ekineguko makeke.”
