The Soroti Cricket Academy will celebrate its 10th anniversary on December 20, 2024, in Soroti City as it continues to make a difference in the lives of young people. Since its start in 2014, the Academy has helped over 1,800 boys and girls grow through cricket, education, and community support. “Our goal is to empower youth to reach their full potential,” says Chairman Felix Musana.
What began with just four children has grown into a vibrant program with three cricket grounds, three cricket clubs, and partnerships with 18 schools. Remarkably, 25 former players from the academy have gone on to represent the Victoria Pearls.
The Academy is set to host two main events. On December 20th, a dinner will honor supporters and celebrate top players. The next day, a fun-filled Cricket Carnival will feature games, music, and food, helping to raise awareness about the Academy and the sport.
In the coming years, the Soroti Cricket Academy aims to reach 5,000 youth, with a focus on promoting gender equality and providing education through sports. Chairman Felix Musana expresses gratitude to all who have supported the Academy, calling for continued help to empower even more young people.
