At Lugogo cricket oval, Soroti City won the toss and chose to bowl first.  From the start, Wanderers struggled to score runs as Soroti City’s bowlers applied consistent pressure.

Naome Kayondo was the only batter who made a significant impact, scoring 28 runs off 21 balls. Janet Mbabazi was exceptional with the ball, taking 4 wickets for just 11 runs as her performance was key in dismissing Wanderers for 63 runs in 18.3 overs.

In their chase, Soroti City proved to be strong, reaching the target of 64 runs in just 12.3 overs, losing only 2 wickets. Proscovia Alako contributed 22 runs off 19 balls, Timong Patricia added 22 runs from 31 balls, and Iloku Esther chipped in with 10 runs.

In the second semifinal held in Jinja, Olila defeated Jinja SS by 13 runs. Batting first, Olila faced challenges in forming strong partnerships but saw valuable contributions from Ariokot Malisa (25 runs), Anyait Lona (10 runs), and Sarah Akiteg (12 runs), leading their team to a total of 90/7 in 20 overs.

Kakai Suzan was a key player for Jinja SS, taking 3 crucial wickets and disrupting Olila’s batting.

In their chase, Jinja SS started well with an opening partnership of Hope Shillah and Whitney Nassuna. However, once they were out, Kakai Suzan (18 runs) and Tikabula Rashidah (10 runs) were the only ones who tried to keep up with the required run rate. Jinja SS fell short, finishing at 77/9 in their 20 overs.

Both Olila and Soroti City will battle it out next weekend in the final.
