Iganga: In a powerful testament to perseverance and dedication, Lubega School of Nursing and Medical Sciences in Busei, Iganga district, celebrated its 7th anniversary on November 23rd, 2023. The occasion not only marked the school’s seven years of existence but also highlighted the remarkable achievements and growth it has experienced since its inception.

Founded on November 23rd, 2016, Lubega School of Nursing and Medical Sciences has become a beacon of education, contributing to the community and the nation at large. Bernard Anaba, the school’s principal, reflected on the journey during the anniversary celebration, emphasizing the significant milestones attained over the past seven years.

Among the notable achievements, Anaba highlighted the construction of modern buildings, an increase in student enrollment, the creation of numerous job opportunities in Uganda, and the expansion with the acquisition of two more schools—Lubega School of Health Professionals and Lubega School of Vocational Studies. The director overseeing these educational institutions, Owek. Prof. Muhammad Lubega Kisambira, holds the esteemed positions of Chairman of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of the Busoga Kingdom.

As part of the 7th-anniversary event, special prayers were offered for the 1450 students preparing to sit for this year’s examinations, including those pursuing certificate and diploma programs. The examinations are scheduled to commence on November 27th, 2023, and December 4th, 2023, for different groups of students.

Rev. Joel Baiwure, the preacher for St. John’s Parish Church Busei in the central Busoga diocese, delivered an inspirational message during the celebration. He urged the students to embrace humility in their interactions, emphasizing its role in attracting blessings for their future endeavors.

The event drew attendance from leaders of various religions, and Sheikh Yusuf Abdullah Mayaye, the in-charge Hijja in Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, used the platform to call on parents to fulfill their responsibilities in educating their children. He extended gratitude to Owek. Prof. Lubega Muhammad Kisambira for his visionary leadership, acknowledging the significant development milestones he has set for Uganda—a legacy that will endure for years to come. The anniversary celebration became a momentous occasion, not just for Lubega School of Nursing and Medical Sciences but for the entire community and the nation, symbolizing the triumph of determination and the pursuit of educational excellence.
