In a spectacular celebration of love and tradition, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Majesty William Wilberforce Nadiope Gabula IV, and Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi embarked on a journey of marital bliss during the much-anticipated Busoga Royal Wedding. The culmination of this grand event, held at Christ Cathedral in Jinja, has set the stage for a fresh chapter in the history of Busoga.

As the echoes of joy and festivity still reverberate, the Central Organizing Committee (CoC) of Embaga Ya Mwenemu, spearheaded by Engineer Patrick Batumbya, has outlined the next steps for the region. Addressing journalists at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, Batumbya revealed that the royal wedding is not just a moment in time but a precursor to transformative initiatives that will shape the future of Busoga.

The CoC, currently in the final stages of reconciling financial and material contributions received, is committed to providing a detailed accountability report in the coming days. The substantial support from corporate entities, organizations, and private individuals played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of Embaga Ya Mwenemu.

Batumbya extended gratitude to the Basoga people and the entire nation for their overwhelming enthusiasm and love displayed throughout the celebration. He acknowledged that, inevitably, some individuals may have faced challenges during this period, and the committee sympathizes with them.

Looking ahead, the leadership of the kingdom has outlined a comprehensive plan for the next 100 days. The focus will include championing a tree-planting initiative, aiming to plant over two million trees across Busoga as a symbolic gesture celebrating the arrival of the Inhebantu.

Additionally, the kingdom will mobilize Busoga subjects to actively participate in the government’s parish development model, contributing to noble development efforts in the region. The fight against teenage pregnancies will be another key agenda, with Busoga taking proactive measures to address and curb this societal challenge.

The royal wedding, beyond being a moment of joyous union, has become a catalyst for positive change and development in Busoga. The leadership is keen on leveraging the momentum generated by the celebration to usher in an era of growth, sustainability, and community well-being.
